2017 Merlot

Tasting Notes

Dark and rich aromas of cherries, cranberry, concord, and a touch of spice on the nose lead into a nice richness on the palate. Fresh fruit notes and youthful flavors of black cherry, plum, and dark chocolate with a touch of spice, this Merlot has a great finish that is balanced with medium tannins and a nice touch of acidity.

Winemaker Notes

Part of Washington State’s reputation being built on having world class Merlot, this bottling is no exception. With harvest dates from late October to mid-November, the fruit had a very extend hang time that allowed us to craft a very balanced wine with beautiful rich flavors while maintaining a great undertone of acidity.  The Merlot and Cabernet were fermented with PDM yeast in our stainless steel upright fermenters while the Malbec was fermented in our pump under to enhance the richness of this varietal.  100% malolactic fermentation was completed in upright stainless-steel tanks.
