GREG POWERS
Greg has learned the wine business literally from the ground up. In his late teens, Greg helped his father Bill plant their 80-acre family estate, Badger Mountain Vineyard. As Vineyard Manager from 1982 to 1990, Greg took an active role in the development of the vineyard, the transition to organic production, and the design and building of the winery facility. In 1990 Greg assumed winemaking duties full time and oversaw expanding production from 100,000 gallon capacity to the present 500,000 gallons. Under Greg’s leadership, Powers Winery has been recognized as a “rising star” by Wine Spectator, and as one of the “50 Great U.S. Cabernet Producers” by Wine Enthusiast.
With an eye towards constantly improving quality both in the vineyard and the winery, Greg continues his education with courses from the University of California at Davis. Greg lives in Kennewick, Washington with his wife and three children.
